(Sorry about typos. Posting from my phone. Tiny keys, fat fingers.)

A recent thread made me realize there is some confusion about what is a label and what is a decal. At least for our penmaking uses. If there's a lexicon someehere I haven't seen it. Please direct me to it...

Anyway, to me:

Label- the kind of sticker you put on a box with an address on it for shipping. Frequently made by Avery.

Decal- also called waterslide, this is what comes in model plane kits. Testors makes decal sheets that can be printed on with an inkjet printer.

Maybe this will help someone. I have and continue to use both. They each fill a need.

So, I have the difference now. Which one is best for which task?

I have only used the decals for applying to the outside of PR and also for applying directly to the tube.

I am going to have to try the Labels. Do you have to seal the label after you print on it like with the decals?

Waterslides work well except when the surface is not straight, as in wider in the center than on the ends. I made a panio key pen with a waterslide. Turned out pretty good. What do you folks think?
