Did a little experimenting with cut-offs and some resin. Crushed a bunch of acrylics and poured a few blanks. These things were rock hard, maybe used too much catalyst. Hardest blanks I have ever turned, sharpening constantly. The small spots that look like holes are actually small chips and slivers of material in the blank, the overall blank is very smooth.
The first is a Guardian Jr. ordered by a client and the second is a Euro.

To crush the acrylic, I went to big box store, bought a one foot length of 2" pipe and cap. You also need a 1-1/4" pipe about 18" long with a cap on both ends. This slides into the larger pipe. Put the pieces in the bottom and pound away. I will screen the very small pieces out the next time I do this to get rid of the small stuff.
