Jr. Retro Finial Question

I have a friend that wants me make a pen for a retiring teacher.
They like the Jr Retro rollerball.
Can I remove the black cap finial and replace it with a piece or corian?
Client wants something red on the pen.

I gave not done any kit mods, and dont want to ruin a kit.

Yes. Drill a hole in a piece of wood slightly larger than the finial, but smaller than the diameter of the cap. Insert the finial end into the hole and use a small transfer punch to pop it out. One little hit ought to do it.

I have done this once, and discovered that 2-part epoxy worked the best for me.
