Here is a new pattern I came up with for the lasered 'box blank' approach. Next time I'll choose something more contrasting between the walnut and black limba. The other woods are canarywood and redheart.

Those are so Cool. I might have to try to copy your method sometime. Do you resaw and plane your wood to get it down in thickness or do you have a supplier for thin hardwoods like these? - Dave

Thanks Dave! I'm happy to share anything I'm doing. Yes, I mostly resaw and plane. Most blanks get away with 1/8" thick, I sort of crowd .130" to .135", though. For larger blanks like the Majestic, I use .170" thick wood stock.
