I really like the looks of that.
That wrap look takes it out a whole new door,and you proportioned it perfectly to
the cigar style platform.

Looks like Metal tape or Aluminum foil with nail holes punched through it.

How did you get the tape to stick to the brass tube?

peeled the back off I only had 1 place that tried to lift as I cast it. I did wrap the tube with a piece large enough to cover whole thing before adding mall pieces.
