Good evening to all!
I have a question and I think this is the right place to ask it. I was beginning to feel that I was the only person who ever bought a Jet Pen Lathe. Then as I went through the pictures of shops I saw one. My question does anyone know where I can get a taper end (I believe it is a #0) for this lathe? I called Jet and they acted as if I was asking if the moon was made of green cheese and said they never heard of it!

Thanks :(

I had a "pen lathe" when I started. Never found anything to fit it. Never looked "real" hard, but hard enough to realize it was not worth it. I made due with the factory mandrel till I could update the lathe.
Good luck.

I had one and got rid of it for that very reason. I have never seen any MT#0 tools for sale. You could certainly have a machine shop make up whatever you need; but it would be pretty expensive.

My question does anyone know where I can get a taper end (I believe it is a #0) for this lathe?

The above is a little puzzling. Can you be more specific as to exactly what you are trying to accomplish?

Did a quick search, and found a few MT0 arbors for attaching a drill chuck to your lathe...hope that helps...the last one is about 20 bucks - didn't check the prices on the others...

Or if you're looking for a tailstock live centre:

Thanks to all for the help. I do have a 36" cast iron lathe with a "real" 1/3 hp motor. It belonged to my dad and I inherited it. I will probably buy a mini lathe for the small stuff. A bit of over kill to make a pen on a 36' long lathe.

This is why I have a brand new one for sale, never been used, only turned on to make sure that it works. There are a few of us that have one but reluctantly admit it.

Please don't tell me that, now. I've been doing it for a decade!
