like most of you, i do alot more than pens. one of the things i've been wanting to buy, but more importantly wanting to make is a marking knife. i know it would be quite easy to make but was wondering if any one has a kit available. (i don't do much metal work) this is the type of thing i'm looking at

I've made a couple of the Czeckedge marking knives and they are high quality and a beautiful gift, even if you're giving it to yourself. One thing I didn't like about the kit knife was that the ferrule on the kit is simply a round sleeve of brass with no end on it. I wanted the ferrule with the milled end cap to keep the blade more secure (and to look a bit nicer). I contacted him and for a few bucks extra he sent me the ferrules he uses on the knives he sells. Either way, it is a very nice marking knife which should last a lifetime.
