Ironwood and Thanks to Billy

I finished these up last night along with the wedding presents. Both made from Desert Ironwood from Reed, really beautiful wood, but kind of stinky. I stole the shape of the Sierra from Billy, but I think his are better. The Sierra is satin gold and the 8mm Euro is Ti Gold. Both with a CA finish. I notice in the picture that I had not retracted the tip of the refill completely. I really like this kit, but getting the grain to line up is a nightmare.

I like the colors of the DI and your finish looks wonderful too!!! Have you considered using black TN plating for that wood color?

I'm not usually a fan of the satin gold kits, but it looks really nice with that wood. Great job on both!

Great job on both, Gerry! The finish looks very good and the photo does them both justice. [^] I have more DI now and need to do another one. I agree about the smell. It like only the animals water these things... if you get my drift.[]

You did fine on both of them. Is that the 8mm Euro? As for the grain lining up, the grain is tight enough with that wood that this is immaterial, IMHO. Lookin' good.
