I know I haven't posted in a while. I still lurk from time to time. But I saw this and I had to share.

So, Amazon has got a set of digital calipers for under $20 that does Metric, Fractions and decimals. http://a.co/0ZmSEX1 nearly a 5star rating with over 200 reviews. That is a good thing.

You may ask, why do I need calipers? Because if you use them, they will make you a better pen turner.

Hello Hans! Haven't seen you in a while! Good to hear from you again.

On Black Friday I was in Harbor Freight and needing another set of calipers. One of my sets broke (digital display) and another set got lost, leaving me with one set and the battery dying. I took my 20% coupon in to get a $19.99 Calipers for $16. They had 2 ($19.99) models on sale for $9.99 each. One model was the mm/inch/fraction. The other was the mm/inch. I got one of each. The sale is probably off now.

The Ubante model on Amazon is a great set!

+1 to the HF stainless steel sets. Be wary of the "cheapie" all-plastic ones ; and run like h-e-double hockey sticks from the General brand sold at Lowe's and Home Depot. The General and its clones will NOT shut down completely and will drain a battery in about a day.

Love the 6" digital stainless inch/mm from HF. Can't figure out why I prefer mm with precision measurement but inches for general measurement. In my laser alignment days I still used thousandths of an inch.

There's a 20% off coupon with this item. At least there was when I ordered it with the iOS Amazon App.

It sure is. I miss that often but several things over the past several months have had a "discount coupon" that would apply at checkout. I need to be more careful at looking for those. THANKS!
