...Potatoes!
Vintage Potato Masher Redo.....
1946: My mom and dad got married and she moved in with him at the farm with the rest of the family. She of course helped with the cooking for the family and the farm hands.
She (now 93) says this Potato masher was there when she moved in and it was old then....and she has mashed many a potato with it. It was in sad shape with a crooked handle and open cracks on the face. I sanded a little and added some mineral oil/ beeswax and it looks pretty good now.
I decided it was time to retire it and let a new one go the next 70 - 100+ years. This one is from cherry, is all one piece and has the same finish on it....bring on the potatoes!
