but it was a great idea and they seem to be well accepted by my customers... I cut the bottoms off wine glasses to put wood stems on them and was throwing the bottoms away... one of our members used a bottom piece to make a lid for a salt cellar... so I stole the idea and here are my latest salt cellars...
They are:
1. White Cedar with green glass lid
2. Walnut with clear glass lid
3. Cherry with black glass lid
4. White oak burl with clear glass lid
5. Sycamore with green glass lid.
They are between 3 1/2" and 4" diameter and about 4-4/12 inches overall height... all are finished with a sanding sealer and wipe on poly.
they're headed for the Holiday Market this coming Saturday... hopefully all will have a new home for Christmas.
