This is the second hot rod pen. I'm seeing that these can be addictive. Execution is a little cleaner, but I'm finding that the chassis' are all exact so I have to re figure each one.

Very Unique!!! Hope they sell well for you. Maybe you could match the color of the blank with the model car or do some using Carbon Fiber or stainless steel.

That is what I am trying to do John. Match the blank with the color scheme of the car in some way. The ONLY pens that will fit are the shock absorber pens. But luckily that fits the theme of it.

I tried that and if I get the hinge attached it doesn't close right. Still exploring possibilities.

:rolleyes: I collect 1:18th scale metal cars and trucks, and some other scales. Are yours metal or plastic, and what scale?? Maybe with all the spare parts I have, I can figure something out for you. Jim S

They are 1:24 scale die cast. Metal bodies and plastic chassis. I have to smooth bottom of chassis out with dremel and then I put a piece if black vinyl down. It would better if I could hinge them. Any help would be appreciated. 1:18 scale would be easier because I might have more room. Have to explore that.
