Highly figured olive ash vessel

Hello folks

I turned this piece a few weeks ago, it was cut from a very large olive ash crotch section. It has some of the best ripple/olive/crotch figure that i have ever seen.

the finished piece is 7" tall by 5 1/4" wide

Thanks for the series of pics...Your work is so fine, that it seems like it must be illegal in some way! Beautiful work and also inspiring. I am collecting suitable pieces to attempt my own work in the same realm, knowing, of course, that it will not be at a comparable level, at least not for a long,long time.

Southernclay: the finish that you can see in the workshop pics is lemon oil, this is a temporary finish which stops me marking the wood with fingerprints etc whilst I finish the base of.
The final finish is a type of wipe on poly called woodoc 10
