I have a 12" Grizzly disc sander, my question is there an easy way to strip a stick on pad from the disc without scraping and marking up the disc? I would hate to mark up the disc if there is another way. The disc is aluminum. Appreciate any help.

Once the disc is pealed off I use Varsol/mineral spirits, WD40 will work too just more costly. Once clean of glue I use Acetone to clean the greasy film left by the Varsol. I'll give the heat gun a shot next time.

WD-40 might work as well and it is easier to apply than acetone. . I hate using acetone and try to avoid it.

Thanks all,

I'm sure with all the suggestions I can come up an easy way now to get the job done. Many of the suggestions I would not have thought of with out your help.

Thanks again, Don
