Help with wood ID

My friend wants a lazy Susan but wants it to match the wood on her table. I think it's distressed maple but not sure. Any guesses.

I don't have a clue as to what it is but I am not feeling maple. I do think you have the distressed part right though.

My guess is Yellow Birch. This wood is used alot in furniture. Let us know if you find out. Good luck with your project.

Gimpy. I thought you were pulling my leg. I was sitting at the table with my lovely today and I saw grain and the worm holes. I have turned a lot of AM but have never seen it cut into boards. Plus the stain that they used did not show off the stains made by the beetle. Thank you.
