So I had this piece of wood in a box of scrap. It was not labeled and I have no idea what it is or where it came from.
Anyone have any thoughts on what it might be?

Well now we're definitely all over the place. I think I'll just call it pretty burl wood and be happy
Thanks all!
Hills weeping fig
Carl, I think it is a piece of olive wood from Athens Greece.
I believe you got it at a blank drawing at one of our club meetings. I have several more similar to it

I'm surprised that nobody took a guess at thuya burl, but then you

me.. definitely spicy smell from the oils and resins.
Anyway, that's my guess
