Some times you just have to try a new position. After seeing how the end grain looked on a black palm bangle, I decided to try turning a pen from a cross cut piece of palm. I was worried about blow outs and did get a little cracking that I was able to fill with CA. The pen was finished with odorless CA.

Wood was generously provided by Jack Rich. Thanks Jack.

Amazeing what end grain turns out looking like isn't it !! A little harder to work with, but well worth the effort for the effect. Great combo of pen and bangle. Jim S

I just love this, what's the bangle made from ? A job for my husband on the metal lathe ?

The metal core did come from wildwood designs and they are pricey. I would definitely like to a cheaper alternative.

In your case, perhaps your husband can manufacture something on his metal lathe. I only have a wood lathe. The core is made of 2 pieces that snap together and have metal rims on the outer edge.
