Chrome sierra Paduak and Oak bricks and pickguard road

Wish I could get better pictures---but wife would kill me if I wanted to buy a new camera.

I cut the paduak into strips 1/4" and then glued them back together with veneer between them. Then cut those glued up strips crosswise 1/8" thick. Then alternated strips with veneer between them. These layers were alternated to give the brick look. I will next try a pen with bricks all the way up.

Very nice pen. I don't think you need a new camera, just a light box which you can make yourself, and some lights. The box and lights are way cheaper than the camera.

Good job. The proportion of the grout joint to the brick looks a little thick.

On your next pen, try a little thinner veneer for that piece for better proportion.
