Thanks to Mudder's fine directions on how to make a Sierra pencil.
I never bothered to read it, as I don't make pencils, only the 5.56 lead ones. But had a client order a Sierra pen/pencil set. Must say Scott wrote some fine directions. Just one thing to remember, when you turn the pen to advance the lead, remember to bring it back, like you are retracting a ball pen. I did everything right but could not figure out why the lead was falling back into the pencil...Daaahhhh.....:D

The pencil is the blue/grey resin laying down. I need to make the pen to match, but busted three flats today trying. :(

But manage to make some pens on a snowy day :D The wood ones are drying, they have one coat of waterlox, will take 4 more coats before they are done.

Thanks for looking and thanks again Mudder !

Kevin, done on the Legacy. I am waiting for you to get your DVR, so you can make a jig for it to hold a rotary cutter, then show me how. [:)]

Nice job as always Anthony, they look great. Now about the conversion instructions, are they posted anywhere? I did a search and found that Mudder had posted them but the link is dead now.

Welcome to the club Anthony!

To the best of my knowledge there are only 5 people who have made the conversion.

anybody looking for the instructions can find them posted at the Yahoo penturners files area, On the BB's website

Towards the bottom here:

http://www.arizonasilhouette.com/Pen_Kit_Instructions_2.htm

Or on my site:

http://www.scottspens.com/kits/sierra_pencil.pdf

I think I also sent Jeff a copy and they are on his list for posting on this site.

If your having any troubles or have any suggestions on ways to make it better please drop me a line and If necessary I'll call you and walk you through it step by step [:D]

I'm also going to redo the whole thing with pictires that are clearer and using suggestions from those who have made the conversion.

I don't make .05 & .07 pencils because I don't use them or like them.
I like the 2mm & 5.56 , but this conversion got me the sale [:p]
