Five Exotic Wood Pens

A freind sent me a box full of pieces of exotic wood from all over the world . It was a very nice gift and quite unexpected and much appreciated.
So this afternoon I tried a few of those pieces and made these pens.
From top to bottom they are;
Succapura from Brazil
Wenge from Zaire
Caboa from Brazil
Tulip Wood, member of rosewood family in Brazil
Thuya root burl from Morocco

All centre bands are aspen from western Canada out of my own local stock.

Very nice looking pens. You are right, that was a great present. Every penturner I know would love to get something like that.

Good stuff Bill. I'd of never thought of using Aspen as a center band I've got a nice piece here that I'll have to play with.

Bill I really like the center bands.Very nice job on the pens too. I have never tried Aspen but looks like I'm about to.
