I finally got all my stuff.I ended up going with the jet mini lathe, and I love it.Like everyone says, pen turning is very addictive,I've spent the last 2 days out in the shop, and before I know it,it's dark outside.I ruined the first 2 blanks when I was trying to drill them.I think each pen got better as I went along,I get different ideas after each one.My favorite so far is the corn cob one, everyone laughed at me when I told them I was going to make a pen out of corn cobs.Anyways,My first pen is the 2nd from the left, then the oak one, then the first one,the corn cob one.I know they aren't that good yet,but it does get easier with each one.

You're off to a good start. One of your first pens was a corncob? Pretty adventuresome!

Some friendly advice ..... make certain you keep that first pen. Don't lose track of it. Every couple of months or so, come back to that first pen and compare it to your latest work. You'll surprise yourself by the progress you made.
