First Jr Statesman

Well we were a couple of days late. This is the first Jr Statesman my 15 yr old son has turned. He chose amboyna burl.

It is amazing how many folks here touched the process of this pen.

Hanau sold us the carbide tool it was turned with.

SteveG helped us get the lovely amboyna burl.

And hcpens let us in on the group buy that got us the kit at a discount.

My contribution was the weakest...the photos.

It just all happened a bit late for the contest. But the bright side is his pen sales have been going well for him.

Hi Tim,

Your son did a nice job on the pen. I wanted to see the detail, and the grain. So i adjusted the lighting up by a fairly large amount on my screen. Looks great! Thanks for the nod on the Amboyna.
