let me first apologize for this picture quality... i'm certainly no photographer... maybe you guys can throw me some hints about what settings i should use... and i know, a pocket knife isn't a good stand and kitchen lighting is poor. ;)
but my camera was running out of batteries and i wanted to get a picture of it on here...

this is a segmented pen with 4 kinds of wood in it... i was just grabbing blanks at random from the box for color so the only two woods i'm sure of are purpleheart and carob and the bloodwood centerband... i used a modified blo/ca/ca finish. strange thing happened though, it seems like the finish is thicker on one side of the pen. perhaps the wood on the opposite side that took the finish doesn't take blo/ca well? or should i not be spinning the lathe when drying the coats?

anywho... thanks for lookin!
