First attempt at closed end desk pen

Well I was in the shop friday afternoon and decide to try my hand at a closed end pen. I saw a piece of black walnut lying on the table and decided to give it a try. I glued in the tube for the bottom blank and then cut and drilled the hole in the upper blank. Turned the bottom blank using my drill chuck with a piece of 1/4 inch dowel and the live center. It was actually easier than I thought it would be. Hope you enjoy it. Both pen and base is out of the same piece of wood.
