First antler pen

Many years ago, when I hadn't been turning pens for very long, my brother-in-law gave me a deer antler shed that he had picked up in a wooded area where he used to work. I finally got around to turning a pen from it. I drilled it on the lathe, which worked very well. I got the idea from this video:

The kit I chose was the Deer Hunter Bolt Action in antique brass from PSI. I applied several coats of CA, then used Micromesh after it had set. I wanted the rough spots to stay rough, and they did. To me, it gives it a more "antler like" feel. I'm very, very happy with how it turned out. The pen is a Christmas present for my brother-in-law.
