first 308 cal. pen

anyways i got the 308 case from Cozee. The top is american walnut.
This pen will be going to the ammo handler that i deal with for christmas.

Looks good. I think if you make the size of your photo about 630 at it's largest dimension you will be ok.

I also got some casings from Greg, I love the look. Here is my first attempt. I didn't think it was too bad for a newbie. Yeah, I have a crappy camera, or maybe it's the operator

did you try the pen with out the center band?
it may look better and fit the hand better, just a thought

Actually, I like the look of the centerband with the casing but then I'm kinda funny that way[^] I like the look of yours with the tip, is it copper?

no its the titanium gold slim kit minus the center band.
i thought the centerband was too narrow for the 308 shell so i left it out. think i got the pen kit from woodcraft.

Yeah, the slimlines are too skinny, I used a streamline. Works much better![]

I'm sorry David, didn't see that you had asked a question until now. I used a streamline and included the centerband that comes with the kit. I like the streamlines better than slimlimes but that is JMO[]

These pens look great. I must contact Cozee and get some casings. I shot the M14 (308) on the National Guard High Power Rifle team in the 80's. It was a match grade .308. I wonder if they are Lake City casings? I would love to make myself one of these, especially with the walnut as that is what the stock is made of. I wonder if a black titanium kit would look cool as it would represent the barrel and other metal parts of my old M14.
