Hello all.
One idea that came up to my mind was to try and make a Gold Leaf Pen.
First: Is this possible? has anyone tried it? Most important: How would you finish such pen?
I have several Gold Leaf Sheets lying around since I don't know when, and thought they'd make a fine set of pens.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

There are two ways this has been tried.

1) boat a tube in leaf. Typically the ones I've seen have used several different kinds of leaf. Then casting the tube in resin.

2) floating the leaf in pieces in resin and casting.

both have their own looks

Since the surface of both is 99.9% resin no need for special finishes.

Thank you Mike. Seems like I need some more experience at this stuff. First...I need to learn what casting in resin is... :frown:
I don't want this experience to be like my first attempt at model ship building. Choose a master kit as a first project... messy, to say the least.

Neat idea! Gold leaf comes in sheets that could be laid on a turned pen and then finished to make it look like a gold pen.

I'll have to stop at Golden's on the way home and pick up a pack.
