I know this isn't a pen, but I had an idea to turn a bottle opener handle and glue on a beer bottle label. I want to cover the label with a clear finish thick enough to protect it. I was thinking about epoxy, but how would I apply the epoxy? Can it be brushed on? What kind/brand should I use? Is the 2 part stuff I can buy at HD appropriate? I was also thinking about turning a blank and making a mold of it, then I could turn a handle slightly smaller than the mold, glue on the label and cast a thin layer of resin around it. This means all my bottle openers would be the same shape though. If I mixed up some poly resin, could I brush it on or would it sag off before it cures? Somebody suggested decoupage, but it appears there all you do is brush on a few coats of varnish. I want to get a finish on in one step.
