El Presidente problem

The El Presidente rollerball pen from Berea is a very handsome pen, it's a large pen and quite masculine, BUT there is a design flaw, if assembled as shown on the instruction sheet the Nib of the rollerball refill will not extend through the nib opening. It requires either stretching the spring, which didn't seem like a good idea, or making a plug to go into the finial, which is what I decided to do, I use a piece of 1/4 in. dowel about 1/4 in. long and that solved the problem.
Hello, Does any body here in the US ever do a quality control inspection????

Ken, The refill lasts a lot longer if you make the pen according to the directions.
