Could a person use ca if there wasn't time to do and properly cure lacquer ?
Doesn't it need to set some before handling ?
Would auto spray lacquer ( rattle can ) work ?

Thanks for any info / help .

Yes, a CA finish can be used on ebonite.

I believe that all CA-finished pens should be allowed to outgas for 24 hours before being used and/or mailed.

Spray lacquer (automotive) can be used on ebonite.

Be aware that purists think ebonite should not be finished, but should be allowed to oxidize naturally over time.

There is definatly a certain "feel" to an ebonite. covering it with a finish would detract from the whole ebonite concept. Plastic polish is the way to go for most.

#1-----------Yes
#2----------- 24-48 hours before handling
#3----------- Yes

But as Lou said us purest just believe it needs no finish just wet MM to 12000, use Maguires plastic polish, buff and enjoy the feel.

I agree with some of the others in that YES, you can apply a finish but WHY? Ebonite with a bit of wax is a beautiful finish, one that I wouldn't dream of covering with CA or lacquer.
