This is the carcass and veneering done over the Christmas period on a writing slope for a commission. The veneer is jinsi' (golden-thread) nanmu over a mahogany ground, I will make a pair of Emperor pens in Huanghuali and Tzu-t'an to sit in the pen well and it will have a cut glass inkpot with a silver top. And a leather skiver tooled up to sit in the opening will post some more photos and better ones when the project is finished.
