I got out the camera and took some pics this evening so I thought I would share them with you guys. This year has been pretty rough for me so I have not had time to make any pens in a while. Things are easing up a little so I broke out the lathe and skew and made a few!

This is Dyed and Stabilized Spanish Oak Burl on an Elegant Sierra with a CA finish. There is NO resin in this other than the stabilizing resin. Thanks for looking!

That is a really neat pen. How did you do it to get the eefect that you got. Do you have anymore of these blanks ? Man they sure make a pretty pen. Thanks for sharing that with us.

The effect was simply due to the way the dye took more in certain areas. Oak is hard to dye due to the density. However, the blue area was sap wood that was quite punky so it took up the dyed resin nicely.
