Drill Bit sizes

So I've ordered one of the PSI Nouveau Sceptre Pens with the starter kit, but I'm not sure I want to try drilling with the "normal" drill bits that come with it - I'd be much more comfortable with a brad point. The problem I'm running into is I can not find a 10.5 mm or a 12.5 mm drill bit anywhere, and I'm not having great luck with a fractional equivalent. Could I go slightly oversized and then use Gorilla Glue to put the tubes in to fill the gap?

I think that 27/64 is the same as 10.5 mm (or close enough)

27/64" is approximately 10.7mm. 1/2" is about 12.7mm. Polyurethane glue (Gorilla Glue) will easily fill the 0.1mm larger gap - so will thick CA glue.

Yes, that would be wise.
As an alternative.....a good one, actually.....sharpening twist bits on a Drill Doctor then giving them a split point makes an excellent blank drilling bit. Personally, I prefer brad points but the splits are very good.
My advice is to stick with the sizes reccomended by the vendor. So called 'gap filling' is unacceptable in my view.

All of the high end starter kits that I got from PSI included brad point bits.

Yes, but they are expensive and not very good quality.
They ABSOLUTELY must be sharpened before first use, preferably into a split point.

Well the brad point bits I got with the FS Majestic were not too great. My twist bits ran rings around them (no pun intended)

(Now that the kit has arrived) it came with a 10.5mm brad point and a 12.5mm normal bit.
