Deer Antler with Dark Walnut Stain

I chose for once to do something different. I first turned the antler round and then set into a can of dark walnut wood stain for 15 minutes. This is the outcome. I personally dont care for the color, but would love to hear everyone's criticism, advise, or comments in general.

no problem, i still need to sample other wood stains. I think golden oak would really go well with deer antler

Try Special Walnut stain. I have used a lot of it on wood. It has a rich color. Looks good to me. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting concept and experimentation is great, but I have to say the final result doesn't work for me.

It actually soaked up the stain well. I let it dry overnite, then applied a CA finish. Thank you for your comments, I will be trying different stains and post pics for all to see.
