Acacia
Hebrew :ATTIHS or (MITTIHS)
is a beautiful orange- colored wood quite heavy and closed grained.
It is quite insect resistant. The tree grows abundantly across Egypt. Sharp thorns grow from its angular, spreading branches. The bark is gnarly, black, and rough-textured. Can also be found thriving in the wadies of Sinai and the Dead Sea. The Bible says if someone cut down this tree they would lose there arm. Today its very hard to find this wood gum Arabic is made from this tree.
