Custom Shaving equipment

I've been caught up in the building of custom shave gear and have only recently gotten back to my pen roots.

Below are some of the pieces I've done. The first is a set made of Blue Lapis with a Mach 3 razor. The next picture is a set made of figured Ancient Kauri from RandBcrafts with a Merkur 38C razor. Following is a brush with a handle made of Honduran Rosewood Burl. Next is a 2 piece set made from some beautiful Red Mallee Burl. The last picture is a replica of an Ever Ready 200t brush made of Water Buffalo horn and Faux Ivory.

I start with a standard razor/brush stand and dismantle it, rebuild the center post and put it back together again. I usually just search the web & Ebay to find the best price.

Nice work, never thought about re-doing stands, great idea. I am into that stuff to. Carl
