Curly Maple Pendants

An old flame of mine saw pics of my work and asked if I could make a couple of pendants for her and her mom. She said, "Red is my favorite color." Hmmm. What to do with that?

Aha! Food coloring to the rescue.

Sent the pics, haven't heard from her if she likes them.

Curly maple, 1.5" diameter, red food coloring, CA finish MM to 12000. Photos show both sides.

Those are nice looking.Did you make your own backer plate/mandrel or buy the one on here.

I bought one from SailingAway here. Best money spent on the lathe ever. I'm going to pick up a couple additional faceplates for it. Probably right after I collect or these two pendants.

Actually, They're both red on one side and the edge. I flipped them over for the 2nd pic.
