Had to work this morning, and have to go back from 2pm until about 7 or so... so what do I do with my free time between working? :D

CA finish.... the wood has lots of depth to it...

Thanks for looking :)

Do you seal it before sanding??

I turned one similar the other day and ended up throwing it away due to a couple of spots in the curl capturing some grey sanding dust.

Maybe I just need to sharpen up the gouge before final size.....

Nice looking pen btw

Beautiful pen, lovely clear picture too!

Phil sand the blank as normal but when going near the bushings make sure you are moving from the blank centre out to the bushings. I always wipe my sanpaper or MM on a clean part of my apron or smock to keep it from clogging.

I use a skew... but I also make sure I don't sand the bushings... and keep the blank wiped clean during the finishing process... once I get that first coat or two or CA on it ain't nothing gonna get into the wood!
