Hi All,

Had some time in the shop the other day and this is what happened!

I have a nice board of Wenge that i crosscut so that the finished pen would have a circular pattern to it.
Crosscutting makes turning a nightmare but the end product is well worth the extra effort!

I also added some extra rings around the bottom section, just to spice it up a bit! Finishing these off without filling them was quite the challenge!!

The board i have has some nice colour changes to it, not the standard dark and light coffee sort of colours.
The bottom section is dark while the upper barrel has some nice honey tones to it.
A striking pen i think!

I think this came out very nicely, very happy with the results!

Finish was CA/BLO for 8 coats and Brasso to polish it up. A layer of conservators wax was then used just for some extra shine!

Comments and suggestions welcomed!
I hope you like it!

Andrew

That's a real beauty! I didn't think crosscut Wenge would be workable. I'll have to give it a shot. I like your finishing touch on the grip end.
