Cross gel refills

A recent post reminded me to ask the question at the end.
Have not been well satisfied with the typical Cross-type ballpoint refills so I headed towards the Parker style, a larger diameter pen. But, preferring the Slimline size (for my personal use only), I wanted to try a gel type refill but do not know if it will fit as a replacement for a typical Cross (read as small diameter) ballpoint pen. There might be a larger sized Cross pen that uses the gel refill, and I do not want to experiment. I have found examples and a source of the Cross gel refills, but usage in the typical Cross ballpoint pen is not addressed.
So...what are the facts? Will a gel refill fit a Cross ballpoint pen?

When you got them, did they SAY gel or something else? Mine said "Liquid ink" -- Is that Gel???

You are correct sir, they are liquid ink but they do write just like gel in my humble opinion.

Is that the only source? I have customers that would do anything for a Cross-type gel. I know I've seen them before (long before I made pens unfortunately) but can't find them now.
