Really? I sand at the same speed I turn - which is about 2600 RPM. No problems yet.

I have had problems with it melting when I sand above 1400 RPM's. I guess if you keep the paper moveing that will not happen.

Just a suggestion, but if you wet sand lightly through each of the the MM grades and polish two to three times with HUT's Ultra Gloss Plastic Polish, you can achieve a truly glass-like finish. With Corian's durability, it'll last for ages.

Nice work! Those look great! You should try the PSI's comfort pen without the rubber with that corian. But they would look cool as well.
