For all of you that have ordered copper kits from CSUSA, especially in group buys, I received the message below in the shipment. Just posting for FYI purposes. Not looking for any discussion.
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION- PLEASE READ-
Congratulations on your purchase of the copper plated Jr. Retro Pen Kit. In addition to the natural beauty and distinct look offered by copper, it is also soft by nature and is less resistant to wear than most other metals used for plating pens. For this reason, your copper plated Jr. Retro Pen kit has a much thicker than normal layer of copper plating to ensure longer life. With this being the case, the copper fittings on this pen are slightly larger in diameter than those found on other Jr. Retro Pen Kits. In order to ensure a good fit and finish, be sure that the finished wood barrel is slightly larger than the steel bushings used for turning the pen. We recommend softening corners of the wooden berrel with a fine abrasive to provide a smooth transition betwwen the barrel and the fittings. As with most pens, the finished wood barrel should be slightly larger in diameter than the fittings so as to prevent an exposed metal edge when assembled.
