Has anyone built one and have any advice?

I'm looking at building a coffin kiln under an area that I plan to run a long bench so I won't loose a lot of space. The plan is a 12' kiln with 10' of drying space the other 2' will be for the dehummidifer and fans.

I want to be able to dry 8' - 9' boards, staves, etc all using the same kiln ...

Working on the plans now so any input would be awesome.

Here is a rough sketch up of the base plan ...

Total overall size 36" tall 12' long 36" deep

It will be a 2" x 4" wall construction sheathed in 1/2" ply on the outside and 1" ply on the inside with a high heat resistant paint on the inside. There will be 3 access panels on the front and 2" foam insulation in the walls.

I plan on adding a thermo and a auto shut off of the heat sources so I can control temp based on wood types and also heat treat certain woods like mardrona to help stablize it.

This is critical for the layout of the shop so needs to be one of the first pieces I build to bring my shop up to the layout I desire.
