This is my first attempt at a mechanical pencil. The wood is cocobolo purchased from an IAP member. Excuse the terrible pic, but I'm certainly no photographer. Be gentle with the critiques.:beat-up:

I guess if I had to pick a favorite wood, it would be Cocobolo. I absolutely love to turn and finish it!
Looks like you did a good job on it! Keep turning! Most of all, keep having fun!
(Me, too. 2 years in Nam. Absolutely the worst years of my 70.)

Beautiful pencil! I'm a Nam era vet, too, but I was in the Pentagon handling the KIA and MIA reports when we were still "advisors!"

Kuwait and is getting ready to go to Afghanistan in October.

Nam vet to, 1 year, then out. It must be very tough, ya dodge the bullet once then you gotta go back. Its gotta be hard for your love ones back home and for your self. My hats off to your son. Carl
