This is the first of a new series for me.
Not sure yet that I like it but it is a good start.
The wood is bocote but I'm not sure what that is on the finial.
One drawback of these closed end pens is that you cannot get them apart to rework the finish.

I agree, and I may replace it with something much shorter, or even the original.
I wanted to see how it would look to continue the taper of the metal.
