I tried my first Christmas tree yesterday, but it came out more like a game piece from the game "Sorry" lol

It is a new take on an old technique that has been around for a long long time -- and you can make neat trees for family and friends

LOL, that was the video I watched that inspired my work of art.

I had some trouble getting a nice straight line from the bottom of the tree to the top. I am gunna try again another day.

You just need to do the three offset centers and make the extra cuts -- It will no longer look like a game piece. Lots of embelishment opportunities too. Great practice

You may have a future in making chess pieces. I think a project like that is a good practice piece to learn the skew on.

Meh ... wish I could watch more than just the first 10 minutes of the video. That sucks.

There a very few videos that will actually show all the turning. I am still learning and I like to find videos that don't fast forward through the important bits.

This video is a long one but it is an excellent video for skew technique. If you get bored easily it will be a bit tough to watch but it has a lot of info.
