Chased Box - Blackwood and Lignum Vitae

Box with chased threads. Lid is Burmese Blackwood with a Paua Shell inlay. Body is Lignum Vitae.Around 3" (7 cm) tall. Not happy with the design, but this is my first successful piece with chased threads. It was a fun experiment, I have to experiment some more to make the threaded elements less of an interference.

Thanks, finally getting one of these made was great. Now I have to work on the overall design. I think I need to make the threaded sections thinner so that the box does not have such a wide joint area.

Cool and unique piece! Like the contrasting wood colors and the pretty grooves and the shell inlay is a nice accent. Great job!
