centering when finishing between centers

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for advice all penmakers that finish pens between centers.

At the moment I finish barells on mandrell - I put on CA, wait a couple of hours and then sand. I do not remove teh barells off the mandrell rod before sanding, since they get off center.

How is this thing working on finishing between centers; is barell well centered when applying CA ? And is putting it off the lathe before sanding OK or is then again problem with centering ?

George, the centers will naturally "center" anything you put on them so the answer to your question is no, taking the barrels on and off the centers is not a problem.( As long as the ends of the barrels are square!):wink:

As Rick said, removing and replacing the turned blanks re-centers automatically.
