Finished these two the other day as well but "No Power, No Post" but here they are now.

This blank also came from Robutacion (George). And I cored out the centre.

The blank is from the crotch part of the tree and the colours are incredible.

Big Bowl/Platter is 13in x 4in and is finished with Satin Gloss Lacquer.
Small bowl is 7.5in x 2.5in and is finished with Shellawax Glow.

I would not be surprised to find another rough turned bowl in a box somewhere that also came from this blank. There is a big space between the two bowls.

They have also been sitting in a box of shavings for at least 12 months. There was quite a bit of oval shrinkage but no cracks at all.

C & C welcome and Thank you for looking.

Bob.

Another great pair Bob,
I love the figure you can get out of the noxious weed they call camphor,:biggrin:

The only thing I would do differently, (well try to at least:redface:) is maybe have made the bigger bowl a bit thinner, but that is just me and i am going through a phase of trying to make my bowls thinner,

Great work with the corer/ bowl saver though

Cheers Ben

Absolutely stunning pieces Bob, congrats on a excellent job.

I remember well those blanks, they were the best pieces that small tree gave us and you got them all. I could see some of the grain in those blanks but, they turnout having a lot better inside than what I could see.

I'm most pleased that, the wood behaved and didn't crack, that alone is a great achievement...!

Great pics, also...!:wink::biggrin:

Cheers
George
