Bowl through a board

Finally got around to making the old bowl through a board trick. Started this last fall with a wet elm log at Ken Dubay's place. Sadly Ken passed before it was dry enough to second turn and finish. At 13" diagonal (33 cm), it's a bit too big for my light tent. Finished with Bush Oil. Given the rustic look of the natural edge on the board, will not do any high gloss coat. Turned as a single piece.

Thanks, this was fun and scary to make at the same time. I doubt that I will make a habit of this, but it was one of those must do at least once turning projects.
